Romanian Language and Culture Center within University of Foreign Languages ​​in Azerbaijan, Baku, in collaboration with the Department of  Romanian Language for Foreign Students within Faculty of Letters, „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi, organized on May 10th, 2022 the INTERNATIONAL COLLOQUIUM FACES OF EUROPE: CULTURAL HSTORIES THROUGH THEATER.

Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Iasi; Department of Romanian Philology, Classical and Balkan Languages, Faculty of Letters, “Ovidius” University, Constanța; Department of Modern Languages ​​and Communication, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca; Faculty of Letters, „Alecu Russo” State University of Balti, Moldova; Department of Romance Philology, Faculty of Letters, Free International University of Moldova ULIM, Chișinău; Department of Romance Philology, Faculty of Letters, St. Petersburg State University; LCCR in Brussels, Belgium, Romanian Language Institute, Bucharest; Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​and Literatures, Department of Modern Languages ​​and Literatures, “Dimitrie Cantemir” Christian University, Bucharest.

The event was attended by teachers from Baku – Iasi – Bucharest – Paris – Chisinau – Constanta – Tunis – Cluj – Sofia – Balti – St. Petersburg – Brussels and students from Azerbaijan, Romania, Albania, Pakistan, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, Morocco, Israel , Greece, Algeria, Ukraine. The variety of papers presented created an opportunity to travel virtually to various countries and cultures and to get familiarized with the peculiarities of theater, specific details and representative authors.

Romanian language students from Azerbaijan presented papers about the history of Azerbaijani theater and played a representative piece of contemporary theater signed by Kamal Abdulla, „Bir, iki, bizimki!”, translated into Romanian. The international students from different countries that study Romanian language within Romanian Universities fascinated the audience with stories about how theatre came into being in their countries and presented the most famous drama creators. The presentations were full of flavour and creativity that introduced the audience into a world of Comedia dell’Arte.

This theatre itinerary was dedicated to celebrate Europe Day through a multicultural event that got toghether students and scientists that learn and teach Romanian Language from all over the world.
